Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Sarmed Hashim Al-Khateeb, and in the presence of the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Shahab Hatab Matlak, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Scientific Affairs Unit and the Volunteer Work Unit, and with the participation of the Women’s Affairs Units at the Colleges of Physical Education and Veterinary Medicine, organized an extracurricular awareness activity in the courtyard of the College’s Deanship.
The activity was presented as an awareness art exhibition titled “Social Life Domains and the Economic Environment,” with participation from a group of third- and fourth-year pharmacy students, supervised by several faculty members.

The activity aimed to enhance environmental awareness among students and highlight the relationship between humans and the environment and how neglecting or developing it affects the quality of life of individuals and society. It also sought to introduce students to the importance of renewable energy sources and their role in environmental protection by reducing emissions and pollutants, in addition to emphasizing the impact of human behavior and unregulated consumption on natural resources and the need to adopt responsible practices to preserve them.

The activity included a display of posters, artworks, and awareness models through which students expressed their views on environmental issues, pollution, and methods of conservation. Students provided accompanying explanations of their works, clarifying the messages they intended to convey and the symbols they used to represent environmental challenges and their impact on human life.

Through this activity and art exhibition, the college of pharmacy aimed to deliver a clear message that environmental protection is a shared responsibility that begins with individual awareness and extends to the role of educational and societal institutions.

The activity concluded by emphasizing the importance of adopting conscious and responsible environmental practices and promoting a culture of sustainability and clean energy use in a way that contributes to reducing pollution and preserving natural resources for future generations.
